Praa Sands (Pronounced “Pray” from the Cornish for “hag” or “witch”) is a popular surfing beach. It is recognised as a Regionally Important Geological/Geomorphical Site, partly due to its 1,300 year old peat bed made up of the decaying forest that once covered this area.
The 16th century Pengersick Castle stands not far from the beach and is reputed to be one of the most haunted sites in Britain.
