Boleigh Fogou is an excellent example of an artificial underground stone passageway dating from the Iron Age.
The fogou is situated in the private grounds of Boleigh House near to Lamorna Cove, but permission to visit to fogou can be obtained from the owners.
Similar examples of fogous can be found at Carn Euny and Chysauster, with two more close to Pendeen – Pendeen Vau and Lower Boscaswell Fogou. There are around 10 further sites with confirmed fogous, in various states of repair, across Cornwall.
